Mark Saxby handed new therapist role as England make team culture a key focus under boss Chris Silverwood
England have tinkered with their support staff’s roles as team culture becomes a key focus under new head coach Chris Silverwood.
Mark Saxby, the long-serving team massage therapist, has been asked to take on further responsibilities relating to behaviour, mental health and wellbeing.
Saxby, who has been with the England team since Duncan Fletcher’s time as coach, will co-ordinate with the ECB’s psychologists and other medical practitioners to act as support to the players across all formats.
He is a popular figure and is seen as someone who understands the pressures the players are under.
