Mayank Agarwal Continues Adding To South Africa's Misery, Converts His Maiden Test Ton Into A Classy Double Century
When Mayank Agarwal reached his hundred early on Day 2 vs South Africa, one could see the determination in his eyes. It was clear, he was not going to stop, not just yet. He may have lost Rohit Sharma (176) to end their opening stand of 317, but that did not stop him from moving forward.
In a Test when a batsman gets 100, he starts off again from the score of zero. Mayank did just that. He slowly plodded onto 150 and soon the signs of a possible 200 looked possible. Skipper Virat Kohli (20) failed to keep him company for long but there was no stopping Mayank.
Then came the moment, he reached his 200 just before tea and the milestone had been achieved. His first century got converted into a double ton and it was a gem of an innings. The double hundred came in 358 balls with 22 fours and 5 sixes.
India are moving on nicely towards a big total. Trust them to bat South Africa out of the game unless the visitors can think of something.
