Mitchell Starc Set To Miss Brisbane T20I Against Sri Lanka
have just started their new home season with the three-match T20I series against . They played the first T20I of this series at Adelaide Oval (Adelaide) on last Sunday (27th October) where the hosts thrashed the visitors by 134 runs.
Australia and Sri Lanka will play the second game of this series on Wednesday (30th October). The Gabba (Brisbane) will host this T20I. But the star Australian pacer Mitchell Starc will miss this T20I.
Mitchell Starc’s elder brother Brandon Starc is going to marry. The 25-year-old Brandon is an Australian Olympic high jumper. He won the gold medal in the high jump during 2018 Commonwealth Games at Gold Coast.
Due to Brandon’s marriage occasion, has allowed Mitchell Starc to leave the Australian squad.
Mitchell will return to the national squad on the next day of Brisbane T20I, which is Thursday (31st October). So, he is likely to be available for the third and final T20I of this series which they will play on Friday (1st November). Melbourne Cricket Ground (Melbourne) will host this final T20I of this series.
Ahead of the Adelaide T20I, Australia lost the pacer due to the elbow injury. has replaced him for this series.
Soon after this series, Australia will play the three-match gome T20I series against which will begin on 3rd November.
Mitchell Starc bagged two wickets during Adelaide T20I
The hosts Australia thrashed Sri Lanka in the Adelaide T20I. At first, the Aussie batsmen thrashed the visiting bowlers all over the park after losing the toss. While the birthday boy scored 100 not out (56 balls), his opening partner and captain scored 64 runs (36 balls) and smashed 62 off 28 balls. Australia managed 233/2 in 20 overs.
In reply, Sri Lanka only managed to score 99/9 in 20 overs. While the leggie (3/14) picked up three wickets, Starc (2/18) and (2/27) shared two wickets each.
