For a long time, the political relations between India and Pakistan are not good enough. Due to this reason, India and Pakistan haven’t played a bilateral series since January 2013. However, more than two dozens Indians are reportedly present in Karachi to cover the Pakistan-Sri Lanka limited-overs series.

Since the 2009 Lahore terrorist attack on the Sri Lankan national cricket team bus, Pakistan has hugely faced trouble to organise the international matches. After that attack, Pakistan didn’t host a single international cricket match before 2015. From 2015, Pakistan has hosted nine T20Is and three ODIs before the ongoing limited-overs series against Sri Lanka. However, Pakistan hasn’t hosted a Test match yet since 2009 Lahore terrorist attack.

The was desperate to organise a Test match against Sri Lanka in Pakistan. But has only agreed to play limited-overs series in Pakistan. So, Sri Lanka are now busy to play three-match ODI and three-match T20I series against the hosts Pakistan. Since 2009, Sri Lanka played only one T20I (in 2017) before their present Pakistan tour.

So, the world cricket is putting the special eye on the ongoing Sri Lanka tour of Pakistan. The ODI series is running from 27th September and it will end on 2nd October. National Stadium (Karachi) is hosting all the ODI matches of this series. Then they will play the T20I series from 5th October to 9th October. Gaddafi Stadium (Lahore) will host the entire T20I series.

The first ODI was entirely washed out in the heavy rain. Due to the bad weather, the PCB has decided to reschedule the second ODI after the SLC has agreed their request. So, they will play the second ODI on 30th September instead of earlier scheduled 29th September.
