MS Dhoni is famous in the world for his cool and calm mind. He regularly led the national team from 2007 to 2016. Under his captaincy, India won the , , ICC Champions Trophy 2013 etc. Also, his captaincy guided the national team to the top of the ICC Test team rankings.

Recently, MS Dhoni talked about the importance of control the emotions in cricket. He claimed that he had emotions like everyone but he controlled it better than some others.

Dhoni claimed according to PTI, “I am like everyone else but I control my emotions better than some of the other individuals.”

He further added, “I would say, I feel equally frustrated. I also feel angry at times, disappointed. But what is important is that none of these feelings are constructive.”

MS Dhoni further revealed how he always achieved success to control his emotions in a better way. He actually remains in the present moment.

Dhoni said, “What needs to be done right now is more important than any of these emotions. What is the next thing I can plan? Who is the next individual, whom I can use? Once I get into it, I am controlling my emotions in a much better way.”

Demands are different in Test or T20 format – MS Dhoni

Dhoni also pointed out that the Test match provided lesser pressure than the limited-overs cricket.

He said, “If it’s a Test match, you have two innings, you get slightly longer duration to plan out your next move. In T20s, everything happens very quickly, so demands are different.

“It might be an individual, who has committed a mistake or it might be the whole team. May be we didn’t execute the plan whatever the format may be.”

Under MS Dhoni’s captaincy, India have won many reputed international trophies, including earlier mentioned ICC tournaments success. Talking about to achieve tournament success, Dhoni advised to break it into smaller things.

Dhoni claimed, “What you want to achieve as a team is to win the tournament but that’s a long-term goal. Ultimately, what you do is to break it into smaller things.”

MS Dhoni has played 90 Tests, 350 ODIs and 98 T20Is. While he retired from Test cricket at the end of 2014, he is still serving in limited-overs cricket.

However, since the semi-final of , MS Dhoni hasn’t played a cricket match yet. Due to not opening up about his future in cricket, the speculation is rising on his retirement.
