MS Dhoni visits Indian team's dressing room, gives inputs to local boy Shahbaz Nadeem
Former Indian captain MS Dhoni finally marked his presence at the JSCA Stadium to watch the proceedings on the fourth day of the third Test against South Africa. India hammered South Africa by an innings and 202 runs in Ranchi to bag their third win on the trot and claim the three-match series 3-0. With the victory, India registered their maiden series whitewash over South Africa in Tests.
Dhoni was present in the Indian dressing room on Tuesday as he saw local lad Shahbaz Nadeem wrap up the proceedings for India inside just five deliveries. In his very first over of the day, Nadeem picked up the wickets of Theunis de Bruyn and Lungi Ngidi on consecutive deliveries to bundle out South Africa for 139 runs in their second innings. Nadeem was later pictured having a chat with Dhoni, who has shared the dressing room with the spinner while playing for Jharkhand in the domestic circuit.
The BCCI shared the picture of Dhoni having a chat with Nadeem after the conclusion of the third Test and the post soon went viral. It was Dhoni's first appearance in the Indian dressing room since the team's exit from 2019 World Cup after a defeat against New Zealand in the semi-final. Dhoni has since remained out of action for India having extended his break from international cricket.

Talking about the third Test in Ranchi, Indian pacers proved too hot for the South African batsmen, whose struggles were left exposed in the subcontinent conditions. Umesh Yadav and Mohammed Shami ran riot with the red cherry picking up a total of ten wickets between them as India bundled out South Africa twice for 169 and 133 runs respectively in the two innings.
Rohit Sharma was the hero with the bat for India scoring his maiden double century in the first innings en route to a stellar knock of 212 runs off 255 balls. The Hitman, who was opening the innings in Tests for the first time in his career, finished with a staggering 529 runs from four innings and was the highest run-getter in the series as he was deservingly awarded the Man of the Series.
