Never Forget Your Roots! MS Dhoni To Repay His Hometown Ranchi By Opening A Cricket Academy
There is no shortage of speculation surrounding the future of MS Dhoni, and whilst he is on a sabbatical the rumours will only grow.
The speculation might be rife over the retirement, but Dhoni has quietly gone about his job off the field and has been giving back to the sport - opening academies at home and abroad.
And now, Ranchi's favourite son wants to repay his hometown by opening an academy. Coming from the the small town of Ranchi, Dhoni might have become one of the greatest and successful captains in history, but he has not forgotten his roots.
According to IANS, Sources in the know of developments said that the 38-year-old is now planning to open an academy in Ranchi to help budding cricketers in the city fine tune their cricketing skills. “Aarka Sports, a company of Dhoni’s childhood friend and manager Mihir Diwakar, has been looking for a piece of land to open an academy and if all goes as per plan, we shall see an academy in the city in the next couple of years,” the source said.
It will not be the first initiative of its kind for MS Dhoni as he already has academies in Indore, Patna, Bokaro, Nagpur, Varanasi and other cities in the country.
The rumours over his future continue to gather pace, but Dhoni is being his usual cool self, and doing the right things off the pitch.
He was recently not included in the T20 squad against Bangladesh.
