Saxton Oval, Nelson; New Zealand beat England in an interesting clash by 14 runs and took 2-1 lead in the T20I series. However, Kiwi’s lost first game and it seemed that England won’t let them come back in the series but they came back strongly in next two game and took 2-1 lead.
Earlier, New Zealand won the toss and opted to bat first. They posted defendable 180/7 in 20 overs. Colin de Grandhomme played fantastic inning and amassed 55 off 35 balls. He struck 5 fours & 3 sixes. Martin Guptil made 33 runs off 17 balls lashed with 7 boundaries while as Ross Tayor added 27 runs.
In attempt to hit target, England could reach 166/7 in 20 overs and lost match by 14 runs. Dawid Malan played semi centurion inning and made 55 runs while as James Vince missed semi ton by 1 runs. He added 49 off 39 balls lashed with 4 fours & a six.
However, 5 regular players from England and 2 players from New Zealand are not playing but the way New Zealand is playing, is appreciable. Colin de Grandhomme won Man of the match award for his fantastic semi ton.
