Not MS Dhoni, Kamran Akmal Holds The Record Of Most First-Class Centuries By An Asian Wicketkeeper-Batsman
MS Dhoni may be regarded as one of the best captains that India have ever had but in terms of batting, he is far behind many wickeeper batsmen in the cricketing arena. As a batsman, he scored nine centuries in first-class cricket and 47 half-centuries.
Compared to other wicketkeepers, Dhoni has a better record term of wicketkeeping but in terms of batting, he does not hold many records. The list of most centuries by a wicketkeeper-batsman is topped by former England played Les Ames, who scored 56 first-class tons as a wicketkeeper-batsman.
Kamran Akmal comes next to him with 31 first-class tons. He scored his 31st ton recently in the ongoing Quaid-e-Azam trophy. Adam Gilchrist and Jim Parks come next to him with 29 and 27 tons, respectively. Chris Read and Kausha Silva have scored 26 tons in their respective careers.
