PAK vs SL: Sri Lanka beat Pakistan in 1st T20, Mohammad Hasnain picked hat-trick
Sri Lanka beat Pakistan by 64 runs in the first T20 played in Lahore to take a 1-0 lead in the three-match series. Sri Lanka scored 165/5 playing first, in response the host managed to score just 101 runs. Danushka Gunathilaka was adjudged Man of the Match for the innings of 57 runs.
Mohammad Hasnain took a hat-trick for Pakistan and became the youngest bowler in the world to take hat trick in international cricket.
Hasnain made this record at the age of 19 years 183 days and broke the record of Rashid Khan. Mohammed Hasnain, who took a hat-trick in the T20 International, became the eighth and second bowler from Pakistan.
Batting first, Sri Lankan openers Gunathilaka (33) and Fernando (32) added 84-run partnership for the first wicket. Bhanuka Rajapaksha played a quick innings of 32 and captain Dasun Shanaka scored 17 runs and helped the team to cross 160 runs in 20 overs.
Mohammad Hasnain creates history:
Mohammad Hasnain bowled Bhanuka off the last ball of the 16th over and then completed the hat-trick by dismissing Shanaka and Shehan Jayasuriya from the first two balls of the 19th over. Apart from Hasnain, Shadab Khan took one wicket from Pakistan.
In response, Pakistan had a very poor start in response to the target of 166 runs and by the score of 22, they had lost three wickets. Iftikhar Ahmed (25) & captain Sarfaraz Ahmed (24) tried to hold the team together by adding 46 runs for the fourth wicket, but Sri Lanka returned again and the hosts were dismissed for 101 runs in the 18th over.
Sri Lanka's Nuwan Pradeep and Isuru Udana took three each, Vanindu Hasranga took two wickets and Kasun Rajita took one wicket. The second T20 of the series between the two teams will be played in Lahore on 7 October.
