Pak vs SL: Shoaib Malik, Mohammad Hafeez out of Pakistan's probable team
Misbah-ul-Haq, the new head coach and selector head of the Pakistan cricket team, has kept veteran batsmen Shoaib Malik and Mohammad Hafeez out of the 20-member probable squad for the limited-overs series with Sri Lanka.
The 20-member squad selected by Misbah will now practice at the National Cricket Stadium from Wednesday.Malik and Hafeez are currently playing in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL). Pakistan has given him a No Objection Certificate (NOC) to play in CPL till 12 October.
While Malik and Hafeez have been left out of the probable squad, Abid Ali, Ahmed Shehzad, Umar Akmal, Iftikhar Ahmed, Faheem Ashraf, Mohammad Rizwan and Usman Shinwari have been selected in the probable squad. All these players were not part of the Pakistan team in the World Cup.
Pakistan and Sri Lanka are scheduled to play a three-match ODI series on September 27, September 29 and October 2 at the National Stadium in Karachi.
After this, both teams will play a three-match T20 series on October 5, 7 and 9 at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. After this Sri Lanka will also host Pakistan for the two-match World Test Championship in December.
