KARACHI: Pakistan cricket team's newly appointed coach and selector Misbah-ul Haq started to constrict the team. This was seen as a possible team appearance of the series played with Sri Lanka. The experienced players of the team Shoaib Malik and Mohammad Hafeez are excluded. The names of Malik and Hafeez are not included in the list of 20 potential players released on Monday. Misbah, the new coach and selector selected by the board, announced the 20-man squad on Monday.
All these players will practice from the Sri Lanka series at the National Cricket Stadium from Wednesday. Currently playing in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) out of Pakistan, Shoaib Malik and Mohammad Hafeez will not be part of the practice as they have been left out of the squad.
Both these players have been granted No Objection Certificate (NOC) by the Pakistan Board to play in the T20 League CPL which is going out of the country on 12 October. The players selected against Sri Lanka include Abid Ali, Ahmed Shehzad, Umar Akmal, Iftikhar Ahmed, Faheem Ashraf, Mohammad Rizwan and Usman Shinwari. All these players were not given a place in the ICC World Cup squad played in England.
