Pakistani fans were ruthless as they trolled head coach and chief selector Misbah-ul-Haq after he posted a video of himself batting in the nets at his home. Pakistan were recently humiliated at home by a young Sri Lankan team who clean swept them 3-0 in the three-match T20I series. Sri Lanka punched above their weight and were clinical throughout as they got the better of the number one ranked T20I side in their own backyard.

International cricket returned to Pakistan last month after Sri Lanka decided to send a second-string side on the limited-overs tour as ten senior players had pulled out of the series citing security reasons. Pakistan started favourites against the Islanders but Sri Lanka staged an incredible upset after losing the ODI series 0-2.

The humiliating series loss saw outrage over the selection policy of head coach Misbah, who admitted his side were far from their best in the three-match series. The likes of Umar Akmal and Ahmed Shehzad, who were roped back in into the side after a long layoff, failed to perform with the bat and were dropped after playing just two games. The bowlers too went for runs amid calls to bring in more youngsters in the national side and build for the future.

The Pakistani fans did not hold back as they lashed out at Misbah after the newly-appointed head coach and the national selector was spotted batting in a video shared by him on his Facebook account. "Every good batsman is not a good coach," wrote one user. "Useless coach specially very arrogant and pointless and illogical answers in press conference from Misbah and Sarfraz," wrote another.

Misbah has another big test lying ahead of him as Pakistan gear up to travel to Australia for their next international assignment. Pakistan will be playing three T20Is and two Tests Down Under in November. The head coach will might be keen on experimenting with the squad and handing call-ups to some of the exciting young prospects who are currently impressing in the National T20 Cup.
