PCB to wait for BCCI reply till June 2020 for ASIA CUP
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has set a deadline for the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to be confirmed for representation in the Asia Cup to be held in September next year until June 2020.
PCB CEO Wasim Khan said in the interview, 'We have to see if India agrees to come to Pakistan for Asia Cup or not. There is still plenty of time for September next year, but by June we should know where the tournament will be and whether India can host it due to India not participating.Khan said, "But the decision has to be taken by the Asian Cricket Council and the ICC. We are ready to host India in the Asia Cup.
Khan, however, acknowledged the problems with hosting India in the bilateral cricket series during the current tense relationship between the two neighboring countries.
He said, 'We have good relations with India at the board to board level but they have a lot of government intervention and we cannot run after them for a bilateral series. If they want to play, they have to tell us and make a commitment. We have no problem playing at a neutral venue.
The final decision to move the tournament, however, is the prerogative of the Asian Cricket Council.
