Rajasthan Royals, the first IPL title-winning franchise, has appointed former Australian all-rounder Andrew McDonald as its new head coach. Andrew McDonald will serve as the head coach of the Rajasthan team for the next three years.

McDonald's record as a coach is excellent. He was associated with Victoria's team in the Australian domestic tournament Sheffield Shield. In the very first year of coaching, he won the tournament to Victoria.

In the last Big Bash League season, he joined the Melbourne Renegades franchise. Melbourne's team jumped from seventh place this season to become the team to capture the title straight.

Andrew McDonald, 38, has played four Test matches for Australia. In the IPL 2009, he played as a player for Delhi Daredevils. He was a part of Royal Challengers Bangalore in IPL 2012 and 2013. He later joined the Bangalore franchise as a bowling coach.
