Ravi Shastri meets MS Dhoni in Ranchi, says 'great to see a true Indian legend in his den'
The Indian cricket fans were left disappointed as MS Dhoni was nowhere to be seen for the first three days as India locked horns against South Africa in the 3rd Test played at the JSCA International Stadium Complex in Ranchi. It was reported earlier that Dhoni would be seen in the Indian dressing room. Come Day 4, Dhoni didn’t disappoint his fans as he reached the stadium as the hosts wrapped up South Africa’s innings in just 12 balls on Day 4 of the final Test. Indian head coach Ravi Shastri posted a photograph with the Ranchi cricketer on his Twitter account.

In a post-match interaction, Shastri highlighted the fact that the team wants to get the track out of the scenario and instead focus on claiming 20 wickets – something which is paramount to winning Tests on a regular basis. "Our philosophy has been bhaad mein gaya pitch (to hell with the pitch). We need to take 20 wickets and it doesn't matter if it's Mumbai, Auckland, Melbourne, anywhere. Once we have taken those 20 wickets, our batting, once it gets going is like smooth-running Ferrari,” Shastri said.
Shastri also stressed on the fact that unlike before, where India just had a few match-winners, the current Indian Test team boasts of seven to eight players who had the potential to produce match-winning performances.
"It's a team effort. A captain who leads from the front. You have opening batsmen who got double hundreds. Middle-order batsmen got hundreds. Normally in India, you have two players who hog the limelight. Here we've had six or seven payers. This is going well, enjoy," he concluded.
