Maddinson steps away from cricket
Cricket: Nic Maddinson will step away from cricket for mental health reasons. The move comes on the back of Glenn Maxwell also stepping away to care for his mental health.
After taking out the award for the best bowling average last season, Mulgrave all-rounder Jake Roach is on track for another big season in 2019-20 after just two and a half games.
Roach has bowled 41.5 overs so far this season for total figures of 8-144, with an average of 18, a strike rate of 31.4 and an economy rate of 3.4.

Last year, Roach bowled 78 overs for total figures of 23-204, with an average of 8.9, a strike rate of 20.3 and an economy rate of 2.6.
With a return to two-day cricket this season, he has already bowled half as many deliveries this season as he did in 2018-19.
Roach also took out last season’s award for best batting average (80.33).
