New Delhi, Oct 9: Indian opener Rohit Sharma was the star of the show as India defeated South Africa in the first cricket Test of the ongoing series.

The Mumbai batsman scored two centuries and broke multiple records as India won by 203 runs.

However, there is one record that the star batsman will definitely want to remove from his biodata - he became the first Indian to be stumped in both innings of a Test match.

Apart from his mode of dismissals, the combination of bowler and wicket-keeper was also the same in both innings.

South Africa's left-arm spinner Keshav Maharaj and wicketkeeper Quinton de Kock combined to dismiss Rohit in both innings.

This was the 22nd time that a batsman has stumped in both innings of a Test match. The last time it happened was 80 years ago.

The South African team was involved on that occasion as well.

Former England all-rounder Wally Hammond was the last batsmen to be stumped in both innings. The incident took place during a Test match against South Africa in 1939.
