Team India will begin their three-match T20I series against Bangladesh on November 3 (Sunday) at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. Rohit Sharma, who will lead the host in the absence of regular skipper Virat Kohli is in line to overtake MS Dhoni in a unique list.

Kohli, who has been playing continuous cricket, chose to take a break from the upcoming series. Moreover, with India trying their combination ahead of the ICC T20 World Cup in Australia next year, the Men in Blues will be keen to look at the bench strength.

Rohit Sharma had earlier captained India on many occasions. He enjoys very good results as the skipper of the Indian team. Speaking on the eve of the match, Rohit said he wants to take the team forward from where Virat has left the team.

“What I have done at the limited opportunities that I have got is to maintain what Virat has done previously with the team. I am just trying to carry that forward,”  Rohit said.

Meanwhile, Rohit Sharma has played 98 T20Is since making his debut at the World T20 in 2007. He will go past MS Dhoni’s tally of 98 T20Is for India. Furthermore, Rohit will occupy the third spot in the list of players with most T20I caps. Shoaib Malik (111) and Shahid Afridi (99) sit on the top two.

On the other hand, Rohit Sharma is on the verge of breaking Virat Kohli’s record of most runs in T20I cricket. Rohit is currently seven runs behind Kohli’s tally.
