Rohit Sharma Urges For A Cracker-free Diwali, Posts A Touching Video
Rohit Sharma has been a leading Indian batsman for many years now. 2019 has been a dream year for the 'Hitman'. He had first led Mumbai Indians to their record fourth IPL title earlier this year, then he had an outstanding run in World Cup 2019 where he was the leading run-scorer with 648 runs in nine matches as India finished as the semi-finalists. Rohit then made an excellent comeback to Test cricket in the recently concluded Test series against South Africa by scoring centuries in both innings of the first Test and then notching up his maiden double century in the final Test. Recently, Rohit Sharma had a very important message for the people on the occasion of Diwali.
Rohit bats for a cracker-free Diwali
On the occasion of Diwali, Rohit Sharma had urged the people to have a cracker-free Diwali. Taking to the micro-blogging site, Sharma urged the fans to light up Diwali with diyas and at the same time, spare a thought for the dogs before bursting any crackers. He then mentioned that it was horrible to see them this scared. The Indian limited-overs vice-captain had also posted a video where two dogs seemed to be afraid of the crackers. Happy Diwali to all my fellow Indians. Let’s hope this Diwali brings more light and shine to us. Let’s light up Diwali with diyas and keep these furry ones in mind before bursting any crackers. It was horrible to see them this scared. pic.twitter.com/2TGmx8sYoa— Rohit Sharma (@ImRo45) October 27, 2019
Rohit tops it all
Rohit Sharma’s stellar performance in the third Test against South Africa has advanced him to the 10th position in the ICC Test rankings. Sharma has become the third Indian batsman, after Virat Kohli and Gautam Gambhir, to reach the top 10 in all formats of the game. The Hitman now holds the second position (Feb 2018) in ODI rankings and seventh in T20s (Nov 2018). Meanwhile, Rohit Sharma will be donning the captain's hat in the upcoming three-match T20Is against Bangladesh starting from November 3 as Virat Kohli has been rested for the limited-overs series.
