Sachin Tendulkar, Brian Lara Are Likely To Return As Cricketer In Legends T20 League
, , etc. dominated international cricket for a long time. While all of them retired from cricket for a long time ago, the cricket fans still remember these legends hugely. Now, the cricket fans can see them along with many other legendary cricketers together once again on the cricket field. In fact, they will play once again and that too for their respective nations.
The legendary cricketers are likely to return on the cricket field during the Road Safety World Series. It will be a T20 tournament which has been aimed to promote road safety.
According to ESPNcricinfo report, the first edition of Road Safety World Series will run between 2nd and 16th February 2020. That report also added that Mumbai would host the first edition. As per that report, five teams will participate in the inaugural edition. These teams are likely India Legends, Australia Legends, South Africa Legends, Sri Lanka Legends and West Indies Legends. This tournament is also based on the franchise model – like the present global T20 leagues.
Professional Management Group and the Road Safety Cell of the Maharashtra government are the organisers of this tournament. According to that report, the gave the nod to the organisers in August 2018 and they have a plan to organise this tournament for ten years across India. India is on the top rank in the world list of most number of death caused on roads.
More than 100 legends are ready to play
The ESPNcricinfo report has also claimed that around 110 retired players have confirmed to feature in this tournament. Sachin Tendulkar, Brian Lara, Muttiah Muralitharan, Jacques Kaliis are some of those big names. Some other big names in this list are , , , , etc.
Though these legends are not playing cricket anymore, the fans still finely remember each of their incredible cricket skills. Surely, the fans are now eagerly waiting to see these legends once again.
