India needed two wickets to win on day four and debutant Shahbaz Nadeem put the finishing touches on yet another comprehensive Indian win. He sealed the deal in the fifth and the sixth delivery of his first over of the day after Mohammed Shami bowled a decent one in the day’s first.

Virat Kohli & Co, who consolidated their top spot in the ICC World Test Championship, will go home with a lot of positives. First and foremost of all, Rohit Sharma’s form with the bat has been the biggest advantage for India. Rohit responded well to management’s decision of sending him at the top with two centuries and a double hundred.

Secondly, it has been very heartening to see how the fast bowlers have bowled for India in this series. Mohammed Shami has claimed 13 wickets while Umesh Yadav has bagged 11 wickets despite playing one Test short. Meanwhile, Ravichandran Ashwin returned with the highest wickets for the host -15 while Ravindra Jadeja scalped 13.

Sachin Tendulkar, who follows India’s matches keenly, heaped praise on the entire team. He also said that it is heartening to see everyone contributing to the victory. India will hope to keep up this form in the upcoming two-match series against Bangladesh.

“Outstanding display of cricket by India to win the series 3-0. Very good to see all batsmen contribute & the wickets getting shared between the pacers & spinners. Dominating start to the World Test Championship,” Sachin Tendulkar tweeted.
