Sanjay Bangar Rates Shahbaz Nadeem Above This Premier Spinner
Sanjay Bangar has been associated with Indian Cricket for quite some time. He had represented India from 2001-2004 and in his four-year career, he had played 12 Tests and 15 One Day Internationals at the highest level. Bangar was a part of the Indian squad that had finished as the runners-up at the ICC Cricket World Cup 2003. Apart from first-class cricket and list-A games, that former all-rounder had also featured in a couple of IPL seasons as well. The ex-cricketer had represented the now-defunct Deccan Chargers in 2008 and Kolkata Knight Riders in 2009. Meanwhile, Bangar has come forward to hail Shahbaz Nadeem.
Bangar calls Nadeem a 'complete spinner'
Shahbaz Nadeem had received his maiden Test cap ahead of the third and final Test match of the ongoing series after chinaman bowler Kuldeep Yadav had complained of left shoulder pain a day before the match. This was also Nadeem's first outing in international cricket. He was very impressive in his debut Test as he managed four scalps. Nadeem had picked up 2/22 at an economy rate of 1.94 which included four maidens in the first innings while he picked up 2/18 at an economy rate of 3 including a maiden in the next innings. Sanjay Bangar was full of praises for the left-arm spinner. While speaking to a sports news website, the former assistant coach of Team India labelled Nadeem as a ''complete bowler'' and said that the Jharkhand spinner is skillful of bowling at a different pace and different points of release.
Bangar rates Nadeem above Jadeja
Sanjay Bangar, who was axed as India's batting coach after World Cup 2019 also rated Shahbaz Nadeem above Ravindra Jadeja by saying that Ravindra Jadeja would require some assistance from the wicket whereas, Shahbaz Nadeem can toss the ball and get the better of the batsman in flight. Bangar also added that Nadeem can undercut the ball and that he can be an all wicket bowler.
