Islamabad: Pakistan cricket team captain Sarfraz Ahmed has been removed from the captaincy of all three formats of cricket by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). This decision has been taken at a time when Pakistan recently defeated Sri Lanka 3–0 in a three-match series at home. This entire year has been very disappointing for Pakistan cricket.
At the beginning of the year, Pakistan got a clean sweep at the hands of South Africa. After this, Australia also defeated him 5–0. Pakistan could not do anything special in the World Cup. Sarfaraz Ahmed had failed in captaincy during the embarrassing performance, with this, he could not do any special performance in batting.
He led Pakistan in 50 ODIs and scored 804 runs with the help of 5 half-centuries. In the 50 ODIs played under his leadership, he has won Pakistan in 28. Talking about the Test, Sarfaraz won 4 matches in 13 matches, while in T20, Pakistan has won 29 matches out of 37 matches under his captaincy. Now top order batsman Azhar Ali will be the new captain of the Test team. Babar Azam will take over the reins of the T20 team.
