Senuran Muthusamy Claims South African Cricketers Are Comfortable Being Uncomfortable
South Africa national cricket team is currently running in a transition period. They are currently busy in the away Test series against the hosts India. It is their first Test series in the inaugural (2019-21).
In this three-match Test series, South Africa lost the first Test at Visakhapatnam by 203 runs. Indian players dominated in that entire game. The 25-year-old Indian-origin Senuran Muthusamy made his international cricket debut during that Visakhapatnam Test.
We are still looking to grow as a side
Before the second Test of this series, Muthusamy has claimed that they are focusing to grow as a team. He further added that they were comfortable being uncomfortable.
Muthusamy claimed, “We are still looking to grow as a side and enjoy being uncomfortable. No matter how you look at it, the guys are ‘comfortable being uncomfortable’ and keep getting better.”
The second Test of this series will begin from this Thursday (10th October). Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium (Pune) is ready to host the second Test.
I am sure we will look to carry the momentum – Senuran Muthusamy
In his debutant Test, the left-handed batsman Senuran Muthusamy played two fighting knocks as he scored 33* and 49* runs. Also, the left-arm spinner took his only wicket in that game of Indian captain in the first innings.
Muthusamy was wishing to start his Test career with a victory. He also wanted to make an impact in that game but he wasn’t satisfied with his performances in that game. Muthusamy wants to perform better in the upcoming Pune Test. But if he misses out the playing XI for the Pune Test, he will back his fellow players.
Muthusamy added, “I would have ideally wanted to win my first Test and make an impact with bat and ball but it really wasn’t to be. I will take the start and hopefully try to do well if I am in the team for the next match.
“If not, I will back the boys. I am sure we will look to carry the momentum. I am on the right track as I was fortunate to get some good time out in the middle.”
JSCA International Stadium Complex (Ranchi) will host the third and final Test of this series from 19th October.
