Shakib Al Hasan Turns To Football After Being Suspended From Cricket By ICC
Shakib Al Hasan, who was recently banned by the International Cricket Council (ICC) for failing to report to the corporation, turned to him during his time away from football. Shakib Al Hasan, a top-ranked One-Day International (ODI) all-rounder, has been named by the football team for a match against Footy Hags at the Korean Expat Team at the Bangladesh Army Stadium in Dhaka. "We played a full-size pitch on the side of Army Stadium against the Korean Expat Team today. We won 3-2. Good to have Shakib Al Hasan back in the Footy Hags team," Footy Hags said in their Facebook post.
Shakib Al Hasan's Footy Hags teammate Riyad Shahir Ahmed Husain also shared some pictures from the match on his Facebook account.Shakib was banned by the ICC for two years (one year suspended) for not reporting corrupt Indian bookie.
Shakib is likely to miss the World Twenty20 in Australia next year because of his flagship event in Australia next year.Shakib's Ban ends on October 29, 2020 while the Marquee event on October 18.In the absence of Shakib, Mahmudullah is one of the leading Twenty20 International (T20I) series against India in India.
The T20I series is the Rajkot Clash that India won after level 1-1. The decider will be played at the Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium in Nagpur on Sunday.
The Test series will run from November 14 to 26 with Holkar Cricket Stadium in Indore and the Eden Gardens hosting the first and second matches respectively.
The Eden Gardens Test will also mark India's first Day-Night Test. The historic match will get underway November 22.
