Shakib Al Hasan Turns To Football After Cricket Suspension
Former Bangladesh skipper Shakib Al Hasan played a football match after his suspension from the game by the International Cricket Council. Hasan featured for the Footy Hags team in Dhaka as he got back on the field. The talisman all-rounder has been banned for two years (suspended for a year) after he failed to report the bookie approaches.
Footy Hags team locked horns with the Korean Expat team at Bangladesh Army Stadium in Dhaka. The facebook handle of the team took to their account to share a picture from the game. Footy Hags went on to win the match by 3-2.
“We played 11 a side on a full-size pitch at the Army Stadium against the Korean Expat team today. We won 3-2. Good to have Shakib Al Hasan back in the Footy Hags Team,” Footy Hags said on their Facebook post.
Meanwhile, Shakib Al Hasan is going to miss the next T20I World Cup in Australia as his ban will not get over by the time the mega event will commence. Hasan has been Bangladesh’s best player and the Tigers are dearly going to miss his services.
However, Hasan has vowed to make a stronger comeback and he has requested support from all of his fans. Hasan was at the top of his game as he scored a truckload of runs in the ICC World Cup 2019.
On the other hand, is currently leading Bangladesh in three-match T20I series against India. The series is tied 1-1 after India won the second match at Rajkot by eight wickets.
Earlier, Bangladesh had won their first-ever T20I against India at Delhi by seven wickets. Furthermore, Mominul Haque will hold the captaincy baton for the two-match Test series against India.
The first Test match will take place at Holkar Cricket Stadium in Indore from 14 November. The second Test match will be a historic Day-Night affair at Eden Gardens, Kolkata. The Pink Ball Test will begin from 22nd November and it would be a maiden Day-Night fixture for both teams.
