Shikhar Dhawan slams Pakistan for advising India on its internal matters
Indian cricketer Shikhar Dhawan has hit out at Pakistan over advising India on its internal matters and has urged the arch foes to fix their own nation before making a remark on others.
Talking on India TV’s Aap Ki Adalat, Shikhar Dhawan stated that if any outsider comments against India, he would definitely object to it.
"If someone says something about our country, of course, we will say stand up. We don't need outsiders to advice us. First fix things in your own country and then speak about others. There is a saying 'Jinke ghar kaanch ka hoh, woh dusro ke ghar pathar nahi phekte (People with glass houses, shouldn't throw stones)," he said.
Earlier, Shikhar Dhawan had slammed former Pakistan all-rounder Shahid Afridi for his remark on Kashmir stating India does not require the advice of an outsider on Kashmir issue.
Nevertheless, the left handed opener also manifested support upon under fire Rishabh Pant, whose performance has been criticised in recent times over his poor shot selection and giving away his wicket cheaply.
"Rishabh is very talented and I am sure he will have a long career for India. He is trying hard. There are situations when you don't score, but then you learn from them. It happens with everyone and I'm sure he will learn from it," Dhawan said.First published: 30 September 2019, 12:28 IST
