Singapore laid down a marker ahead of next month's T20 World Cup Qualifier, claiming their first-ever win over an ICC Full Member when they clung on to bag a four-run win over Zimbabwe in front of a home crowd at the Indian Association Ground on Sunday.

Bouncing back from a heavy defeat at the hands of Nepal in the second game of the ongoing tri-nation series, when Paras Khadka had thumped a barnstorming 106 not out off 52 balls to record Nepal's first-ever T20I century, the hosts ambushed an understrength but still heavily-fancied. Zimbabwe team, contributions from Rohan Rangarajan, Tim David and Manpreet Singh seeing them to a competitive total of 181 off their 18 overs before a remarkable final three overs from skipper Amjab Mahboob, Janak Prakash and Sidhant Singh ensure Singapore snatched victory from the grip of Zimbabwe, who had been in a commanding position on 159-3 with just 23 needed off the final 18 balls.
