Sourav Ganguly Cancels The Plan To Watch The Ranchi Test Match
The is set to welcome the new president Sourav Ganguly. The former Indian captain will take charge of the new role on 23rd October. Ganguly had a plan to watch the last Test match against South Africa live in Ranchi but he has cancelled it.
Sourav Ganguly will be busy in the inauguration event of which is scheduled on 20th October in Kerela. Then, he will have to head to BCCI’s headquarter to take the charge of President on 23rd October. Though the last Test match in Ranchi will begin from 19th October, the final day of this Test match will be on 23rd October.
“Wanted to go to Ranchi, but won’t get time as I have to inaugurate this edition of the Indian Super League as I’m now the face of ISL and shot for them. So, I will be attending the opening ceremony in Kerala,” Ganguly said.
Sourav Ganguly ready to take up the charge
According to the rule, the BCCI official can not handle more than one post. So, Ganguly will have to leave all the media contracts and also thefranchise in IPL. He will not be able to participate in any TV Show as an expert or host. He opines that he has quite the job of Delhi Capitals (DC) and all other roles except his Bengali reality show “Dadagiri” where he plays the host role.
“I will continue doing only (Bengali TV show) Dadagiri and endorsements, rest all stopped. Commentary, article writing and IPL, I’ll stop doing all this now. I’ve already quit Delhi Capitals and conveyed it to them. It’s a huge responsibility and the first task would be to form various committees by calling Apex Council meeting,” Ganguly pointed.
Meanwhile, the Indian team has headed to Ranchi to play its third and last Test match in the Test series against the Proteas.
