Sourav Ganguly set to remain CAB president
KOLKATA: Sourav Ganguly will retain the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) president’s post unopposed as no one will be contesting against him. With the nomination process for the association’s election closing on Saturday evening, gangukly was the only name for the president’s position.
The CAB is set to hold its 85th Annual General Meeting on September 28. This will be the former India skipper’s second term after he became the president in 2015 following the death of Jagmohan Dalmiya. Ganguly, who took over as the joint secretary in 2014, will complete his six years as officebearer in July 2020, which is 10 months from now, before going into the mandatory ‘coolingoff ’ period of three years.
