Aussie openers – Aaron Finch and David Warner, who partnered for the first time since 2017 in T20Is made a merry of Sri Lankan bowlers after asked to bat first. Rajitha faced the heat as he was taken for cleaners by both the Australia bowlers.
He shared the new ball with Lasith Malinga and Finch hit two boundaries to take 11 runs off his first over. Kasun Rajitha gave away 21 runs in his second over which gave the momentum to the Australian batsman and they didn’t look to stop from there.David Warner celebrates his century. Credit: Getty Images

Things didn’t go right for the fast bowler as the right hand-left hand combination dispatched everything at their disposal. The third over costed him 25 runs with David Warner hitting back to back sixes and followed it up with another boundary to bring his half-century.
It was then Glenn Maxwell who took on the young Kasun Rajitha for 18 runs in his last over. He returned with 75 for no loss in his full quota which is also the worst figure in a T20I game. Rajitha broke the record of Tunahan Turan, who gave away 70 runs in his four overs. Ireland’s Barry McCarthy (69 in four), South Africa’s Kyle Abbott (68 in four), and England’s James Anderson (64 runs in four) complete the top five.
Meanwhile, speaking about the game, David Warner remained unbeaten on a century while Aaron Finch and Glenn Maxwell joined hand with half-centuries to help Australia post a staggering total on the board.
