Suresh Raina, who is out of Team India, believes that he can still bat at number 4 in ODI and T20 team. Raina last played for India in the series against England last year and he is now trying to return to the team before the T20 World Cup. Two consecutive T20 World Cups are to be played in the years 2020 and 2021.

'The Hindu' quoted Raina as saying, 'I can bat at number 4 for India. I have also batted at that number before and performed better. Two World Cups are to be played and I am looking for an opportunity". The number 4 position in the Indian team has been a topic of discussion for quite some time. Vijay Shankar was included in the squad for the World Cup by the selectors after Ambati Rayudu played at number 4 for a while, young Rishabh Pant is being tried at the spot after Shankar's injury, but he didn't perform well.

Raina said, 'He looks confused and is unable to play his natural game". He keeps searching for singles. Stop the ball and then it seems that he is unable to understand things properly. Raina said, 'One needs to talk to him as MS Dhoni does to the players. Cricket is a mental game and Pant needs support so that he can play his aggressive game. It looks like he is playing as per instructions and it is not working".
