Surgery done successfully! Hardik Pandya goes under the knife for lower back issue
Hardik underwent the surgery in London and the same was confirmed on Saturday (October 05). He has been facing trouble with his back for quite a while. He was a part of the Indian squad for the T20I series against the Proteas and had played in the Mohali and Bengaluru matches too but wasn't picked for the Test series. After the M Chinnaswamy encounter, Hardik decided to go under the knife.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) did reveal that Hardik was out due to the injury concern but no timeline of his return was given.
The back issue had troubled Hardik before the start of the 2019 ICC World Cup too but he had recovered in time to participate in the mega event. He was first struck by this injury during the 2018 Asia Cup in the match against Pakistan which saw him being ruled out of the tournament in the middle.
After being out of action for a few months, Hardik returned for the Australia series Down Under. An off-field controversy, however, limited his appearance for the national team back then before he returned to participate in the New Zealand tour and subsequently the Indian Premier League.
After successfully undergoing surgery, the 25-year-old posted a picture on Instagram with the caption: "Surgery done successfully. Extremely grateful to everyone for your wishes. Will be back in no time! Till then miss me".
