Tamim Iqbal Turns Down Offer To Play In Tri-Series Final
The flamboyant opening batsman of Bangladesh Tamim Iqbal has been sensational for Bangladesh over the years. However, of late, he wasn’t at his best as he is failing to score runs for the team on a consistent basis. Amidst his poor form, BCB still wants him to play for the country in the final against Afghanistan.
However, the stylish Southpaw, who himself believes that he isn’t ready yet to play in the highest level of the game. The opening batsman turned down the offer made by the board, as he believes that there is much to improve for him in order to make a strong comeback.

“We made him an offer to play in the final. But he said he is not ready yet. He took the bat only for two to three days but he said they are not enough for him to return,” he said.
The 30-year-old opener had gone to the Bangladesh Cricket Board in early August to seek time off. This follows the BCB’s decision to give Shakib Al Hasan a break – following a request from the player – during last month’s ODI series against Sri Lanka.
During the 2019 World Cup, Tamim spoke about the demons of the 2015 tournament, in which he made only 154 runs in six innings, and was subsequently abused on social media. Tamim said those memories affected his preparation for this year’s event in England and Wales.
Well, it would be interesting to see how things would pan out for Bangladesh in the final against Afghanistan. They already tried four different options to open the innings.
