These two players can lead Royal Challengers Bangalore in the absence of Virat Kohli
There is often a lot of talks a lot about how Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) have never won a single IPL title so far. There are many big names in the team but still, they did not win any edition of the IPL. They reached the final on three occasions- 2009, 2011 and 2016 but they could not cross the final hurdle. They have reached the playoffs only in two sessions and that is something to worry about. Hence, there is a lot of pressure on skipper Virat Kohli.
There have been calls for him to step down as captain as well. That may not happen in the near future, but there have been instances when he's injured and opted out of a game. Here we take a look at two possible players who can lead the RCB in the absence of Virat Kohli.
Tim Southee has been with RCB for a couple of years now and has blown hot and cold. However, the New Zealand fast bowler is his country's preferred choice in the absence of Kane Williamson when he is rested or injured. Tim Southee recently led the Kiwis to a 2-1 series win against Sri Lanka. He has continued the good work against England as well.
AB de Villiers
Ab de Villiers is one of the biggest members of the RCB unit. He is absolutely vital to their plans. After retiring from International cricket he is playing a few T20 leagues. He is a lot more laid-back now and seems, to be enjoying his cricket. Hence, it won't be a bad time to give him the captaincy of the RCB team in the absence of Virat Kohli.
