imgMOHALI: Three pitch invaders who disrupted Wednesday's T20 match against South Africa at the Punjab Cricket Association Stadium here are now under arrest.

The intrusions came during Protean innings as well as Indian chase. Police are trying to find out how these outsiders dodged security and got close to the cricketers in the middle after trespassing the entire field during live match.

First, a Virat Kohli fan, Sandeep Kumar of Yamunanagar, jumped the 'A' Block grill and ran on to the pitch to shake hands with the Indian skipper. He appeared to even obstruct a cop who came for him. Soon after, another fan, Rajesh Kumar of Churu in Rajasthan scaled the 'B' Block fence and entered the pitch.

The third accused, Pawan Kumar of Mandi in Himachal Pradesh, was sitting in the members block when he also dodged and police official and came in.

All three pitch invaders were booked at the Phase-VIII police station for criminal trespass, obstructing public servants, and using criminal force to deter cops. Station house officer (SHO) sub-inspector Jagdeep Singh Brar said: "They have been remanded in 14-day judicial custody."
