At the end of the second match of the three Test series, it would presumably be Virat Kohli who would be recognised for his unbeaten 254-run performance with the bat that led to India's brilliant 601-run first innings and gave the South African a follow-on in the second.

However, one of the underrated heroes of the second Test between Kohli and Faf du Plessis' men has to be India's 34-year-old wicket-keeper, Wriddhiman Saha.

Saha, who was brought in to replace the struggling Rishabh Pant ahead of the first Test in Visakhapatnam, was highly criticised for bad wicket-keeping during the first match which gave rise to the discussion whether picking him over Pant was a good idea after all or not.

However, with a champion's mentality, Saha shrugged off the criticism, focused on what he did best and took some of the most brilliant catches during the Pune match to help India attain a comfortable position on Day 4 of the match.

Shifting gears on Day 3, Saha dismissed Theunis de Bruyn with an impressive catch in front of the first slip off an Umesh Yadav delivery in the 21st over of the Proteas' first innings.

His Indian Premier League franchise, SunRisers Hyderabad tweeted a video of the catch, captioning: "Just in case anyone missed Superman. Saha's catch yesterday.... here it is."

During the early minutes of the first session of Day 4, in what must have been a Déjà vu experience for the batsman, de Bruyn was dismissed yet again off an Umesh Yadav delivery as Saha flew to his left to take an exceptional one-handed catch.

The Siliguri-cricketer had to work for his money in dismissing the South Africa skipper du Plessis almost 20 overs later when the batsman edged the ball and Saha couldn't control it and finally had to dive to secure it in his hands.

With Virat Kohli and Co. in a 1-0 lead in the three-match series against the Proteas, Team India will be in a hurry to get the remaining batsmen out of their way to win the second Test and secure the series.

The Indian cricket team are currently atop the ICC World Test Championship points table with 160 points with New Zealand in the second spot with a huge margin of 100 points. The way things are turning out for the Indian side, they would surely look forward to increasing the gap between them and the rest of the world even more.
