Indian captain Virat Kohli is an icon across the globe, thanks to his brilliant performances on the pitch. Kohli has admirers all over the world including Pakistan, where he is loved by the cricket fans all across the country. Recently one of his ardent fans from Pakistan turned up with a placard during the 3rd T2OI between the hosts and Sri Lanka at the Gadaffi Stadium in Lahore, requesting his favourite cricketer to come and play in the country.

International cricket recently returned to Pakistan after Sri Lanka decided to send out a second-string side for the limited-over series despite security threats. As many as ten Sri Lankan players including seniors like Lasith Malinga, Dimuth Karunaratne and Angelo Mathews had pulled out of the tour citing security concerns. However, the Sri Lankan boards agreed to send depleted squads to play three-match ODI and T20I series in Pakistan after assurances from the PCB.

During the 3rd and final T20I between Pakistan and Sri Lanka on Wednesday, a fan showed his admiration for Kohli. His picture with the message "Virat Kohli we want to see you playing in Pakistan," on his placard was shared by another Pakistan fan on Twitter and the post went viral in no time with the Indian fans also echoing his sentiments. "@imVkohli we are hoping you to come Pakistan and play cricket here also. We love you I am big fan of you. Lots of love and strength from Pak," the fan tweeted.

The first ODI between Pakistan and Sri Lanka was washed out due to rain following which the hosts comfortably won the next two games to clinch the series 2-0. However, Sri Lanka staged a sensational comeback in T20Is to register a 3-0 whitewash over Sarfaraz Ahmed's men in the three-match series.

Sri Lanka won the first T20I by 64 runs and followed it up with another 35-run win in the second game before clinching the third and final T20I by 13 runs on Wednesday. It was an incredible effort from a young Sri Lankan side led by stand-in skipper Dasun Shanka, who became the first-ever Sri Lankan captain to win a T20I series 3-0 away from home.
