Virat Kohli surpasses Don Braman to achieve major feat with another 150-plus score in Tests
Indian captain Virat Kohli, who has made it a habit to score centuries every now and then, added another big score to his tally as he smashed his 26th Test ton which came against South Africa on Day 2 of the 1st Test in Pune. Batting on 96, Kohli played a straight drive off Vernon Philander for a boundary and completed his 19th century as captain. Known to convert tons into even bigger knocks, the moment Kohli reached 150 runs, he surpassed legendary Australian batsman Don Bradman to become the first batsman to score nine 150-plus scores.
While Bradman had scored 8 centuries as the Test captain of the Australian cricket team, Kohli made his 50th Test as captain a memorable one for his fans by registering yet another 150-plus score, taking his overall tally to 9 as a skipper. Bradman had scored eight 150-plus scores in 24 Tests while Kohli surpassed him in his 50th Test.
