Virender Sehwag was known as a fearless customer of the game during his playing days. While Sehwag kept the fans entertained with his wide range of shots regardless of the format, the former opener has become a social media sensation with his witty tweets and comments since hanging his boots.

Sehwag celebrated his 41st birthday on Sunday and received wishes from all corners of the world. From former and present cricketers to fans, Sehwag was the cynosure of all eyes on Sunday. However, keeping his witty side alive, Sehwag responded to some of the wishes and the Nawab of Najafgarh was at his hilarious best.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) was among the first to wish Sehwag on his birthday as it posted the highlights of Sehwag’s triple-century against South Africa in Chennai in 2008. Sehwag, knowing that the BCCI posted the video exactly at 12:00 am, replied: "It's all about timing and what a timing, sharp at mid night with the video upload! Many thanks @BCCI."

Former England captain Michael Vaughan wished Sehwag by saying that it was his 50th birthday as he joked: “Happy 50th birthday @virendersehwag ... Have a great day.” Sehwag was not turned off by the tweet and rather gracefully replied while showing his humorous side. “Thanks for your wishes Michael. How do you manage to keep track? I am ageless and timeless buddy,” replied Sehwag.

Former Indian cricketer and Sehwag’s former teammate, VVS Laxman also wished Sehwag on his special day, to which the swashbuckling former opener brought out his funny side in Hindi. “Aapki baat hi niraali hai Bhrata, Jalwe aaj bhi kaaayam hain aapke. Many thanks for your special wishes,” replied Sehwag.

Indian cricketer Kedar Jadhav, who was dropped from the side for India’s home series against South Africa, also wished Sehwag on his birthday and the 41-year-old had some words of motivation for the experienced all-rounder. “Thank you Kedar. Lage rehna, and you have my best wishes always.”

Indian opener Mayank Agarwal also wished Sehwag while thanking the former cricketer for always motivating him, to which Sehwag had a brilliant response. “Thanks Mayank. Now you are the one motivating me and many lovers of the game on how to have the hunger to score runs when opportunity strikes. Best wishes always,” wrote Sehwag.

Sehwag will be next seen in action in the Road Safety World Series where former cricketers will take to the field in a noble cause and spread awareness regarding road safety issues.
