Watch: Commentators In Split After Rahkeem Cornwall’s Lazy Run Out
Rahkeem Cornwall continues to make news for the reasons he would have least wanted. He made his Test debut during the home series against India a few weeks ago. But more than his expertise with the bat and the ball, he was all over the news for his humoungous physique. Rahkeem Cornwall is the heaviest cricketer in international cricket now.
And while he has managed to do well with the bat and ball so far, there is little denying that his physique has not helped him much as far as mobility on the field is concerned. And that physique has now seen the West Indies allrounder getting involved in a comical run out in the ongoing Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2019.Rahkeem Cornwal (Credits: Twitter)
The heaviest cricketer in the history of Test cricket did not slide his bat when he approached the crease and got out. Not many would have thought that Rahkeem Cornwall would get out but the latter’s lack of attentiveness as well as laziness cost him his wicket. Rahkeem Cornwall would have survived by just grounding his bat but decided against bending, leaving the commentator in splits.
“Rahkeem you’ve got to slide the blade… he’d better go back to the hotel and hide,” commentator Danny Morrison said.
Rahkeem Cornwall, nonetheless, was not having a good outing with the bat either as he struggled to score quickly during St Lucia Zouks and Guyana Amazon Warriors clash. Sent in to open, the St Lucia Zouks opener could score only six runs from 12 deliveries before being run out.
Here is a clip of that dismissal:

Guyana Amazon Warriors won the game by eight wickets. Batting first, the Zouks scored 161 for 7 with Colin de Grandhomme’s 65 leading the way. In reply, the Warriors rode on Brandon King’s unbeaten 81 to chase down the total in 18.2 overs.
