We Kept It Nice And Simple With The Ball – Quinton de Kock
South Africa’s T20I skipper Quinton de Kock had a fine T20I series. The southpaw batsman scored a fine knock of 79 runs from 52 balls to help his team get over the line by nine wickets in the third and final T20I match. Thus, the T20I series was shared between the two teams. Furthermore, de Kock had also scored a fine half-century in the second T20I at Mohali. Hence, the left-hander was awarded the Man of the series.
The left-hander scored a total of 131 runs in the two innings of the series. Consequently, Quinton de Kock was the leading run-scorer in the series. As a captain, de Kock was also pleased with the all-round performance of his team.
South Africa came up with a fine bowling display as they kept India to 134 runs. The South African skipper was all impressed with the collective team performance of his team.
Beuran Hendricks was able to get two wickets to put his team in front. Quinton de Kock stated the southpaw seamer was able to read the situation perfectly as he varied his pace with guile.
Quinton de Kock said in the post-match presentation, “I think we kept it nice and simple with the bowl, hitting the good length. Beuran came in and bowled really well, he read the situation right tonight. We fixed one of two things quickly with the ball from the last game, for them to act to quickly was a positive for me. The intensity and the fielding parts are also things that really impressed me. As long as the boys are hungry, I am perfectly happy with that”.
South Africa will be pleased to make a solid comeback into the series. India was not up to the mark whereas the tourists were able to tick the right boxes. The Proteas bowled at the right areas and the Indian team was not able to read the situations.
India and South Africa will now take on each other in the three-match Test series. The first Test match will take place at Vishakhapatnam from October 2.
