Will Prithvi Shaw Comeback In Bangladesh Test Series?
Welcome to “Faadu News” for fantabulous, fresh and breaking news of each moment of cricket.
India is facing opening pair problem in the Test series and are looking for other options after failure of KL Rahul in this slot. This is happening due to absence of exceptionally talented opener batsman Prithvi Shaw who was trapped into unintentional involvement of dope test early this year.
He had taken a cough syrup during a domestic tournament when he was suffering from severe cough and cold. He took some cough syrup without consulting a doctor as usually, common people do, and trapped into dope test. He was banned from all formats of cricket for 8 months.
Now, the suspension period is about to finish on 15th November and thereafter he will be available for next series against Bangladesh. But the question rises, will BCCI select him directly to team or say him to perform in domestic tournament or other unofficial match to prove his form?
Technically, Prithvi Shaw deserve direct selection in the team as he was part of Team India during India’s Australia tour in 2018-19, where he developed ankle injury during taking a catch on boundary line in warm up match.
His performance in first two Test match was exceptionally well and he left behind all legendary batsmen like Don Bradman, Suni Gavaskar and Sachin Tendulkar.
However, Rohit Sharma and Mayank Agarwal have been selected as opening pair for South Africa and Prithi will be not able to play first Test against even Bangladesh but he should be included in team for rest of the game without tampering his slot.
However, some people want to Prithvi at slot 4 but he is best for top slot. He should be first choice for opener while second would be Rohit or Mayank. Mayank would be better option for slot 4.
Prithvi’s mentor former captain Rahul Dravid is very curious about come back of Prithvi in team as he seriously talked to head coach during last T20I series in Bangalore.
