The 11th edition of Kaun Banega Crorepati hosted by none other than Amitabh Bachchan has left everyone hooked in front of their television screens. Cricket questions have become a norm in KBC and the Rs 7 crore question to KBC 11’s first crorepati – Sanoj Raj – was also a question related to sports. The same happened when Mohammad Younis was testing his knowledge in the show and a cricket question popped up in front of his screen. Following the correct answer, Bachchan was full of praise for the contestant and even quipped that he should be working with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

Younis was asked a question related to Indian Test cricket and the contestant gave a brief trivia on the correct answer. He was asked: “Which of these cricketers has never played a Test match for India?” And the options were: A) Mayank Agarwal, B) Dinesh Karthik, C) Ambati Rayudu, D) Suresh Raina.

Younis was quick with his reply and straightaway requested Big B to lock C) Ambati Rayudu. That was the correct answer and Bachchan went on to give Rayudu’s statistics in ODIs and T20Is for India. Younis then added that Rayudu had a good average in ODIs and should have been a part of the ICC World Cup 2019 squad while stating Team India Head Coach Ravi Shastri took a huge risk in not picking him up which eventually backfired.

Younis also stated that Rayudu had played in the now-defunct Indian Cricket League (ICL) before signing for Mumbai Indians in Indian Premier League (IPL) and now plies trade with Chennai Super Kings (CSK).

Big B then said that after missing out on the bus for the World Cup, Rayudu announced his retirement but has made himself available to play cricket for India. He added that he is a great player and should be playing for India for a long long time. Bachchan then went on to say that he should be working in BCCI.

Later on the show, Younis decided to quit after winning a whopping Rs 12,50,000 and Bachchan congratulated him for playing the game sensibly.

Meanwhile, KBC 11 became the No. 1 programme in the non-fiction section this week and the celebrations have started for the entire KBC team.
