Retired Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh came up with an epic reply after his former teammate Harbhajan Singh slammed the MSK-led selection committee for overlooking Suryakumar Yadav on Monday. Yuvraj, who recently called it quits with the gentlemen's game replied to Harbhajan's query after the latter backed Suryakumar to receive a maiden call-up for the Indian national team in white-ball cricket. Yadav has been in sublime form on the domestic channel and can threat India's present No. 4 position candidates.

Yadav plies his trade in the Indian Premier League (IPL) with Rohit Sharma's Mumbai Indians and has remained consistent with the defending champions since making his switch from Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). The swashbuckling batsman made his presence felt in the Vijay Hazare trophy against Chhattisgarh when the Mumbai star made a stunning 81 off just 31 balls. Though Yadav's heroics failed to thwart the Chhattisgarh side from emerging victorious in the limited-overs tie, the 29-year-old still managed to earn Harbhajan's rich praises after showing his explosive side with the willow on the pitch.

Yadav came into bat in the 42nd over and powered Mumbai to 317 in 50 overs. Through Yadav's masterclass, the Mumbai side ended up plundering 79 runs in the final five overs of their innings. At a time when India are constantly looking and rejigging their No. 4 batting position alternatives, Harbhajan voiced his support towards Suryakumar who he believes can work wonders for the Virat Kohli-led brigade in the limited-overs format.

"Don’t know why he doesn’t get picked for india after scoring runs heavily in domestic cricket @surya_14kumar keep working hard.. your time will come," the legendary spinner tweeted in favour of the Mumbai Indian star batsman.

Yuvraj, who has shared the Indian lockerroom with Harbhajan for almost a decade posted a cheeky response: "Yaar I told you ! They don’t need a no 4 top order is very strong". The Indian all-rounder has previously backed India 's present middle-order setup for long but this time Yuvi opted to take a dig at the Indian selectors with his cheeky response. Keeping his funny side up, Yuvi asserted that there's no need to consider a top-order batsman like Suryakumar as a candidate slove India's No.4 position woes.
